ROT RALLY

So, this weekend is the ROT Rally (Republic of Texas), which is going to bring some 10,000 motorcycle riders into and around my hometown, Austin, Texas!!
Tonight, Robbie Knievel, son of the late Evel Knievel will be preforming a jump in front of the Texas State Captial.
There is going to be an 11 mile motorcycle parade snaking its way through downtown Austin, and in from the expo center (where the rally is actually at).

In the past few years I have gone out to the parade route and then walked up and down the miles of show-bikes, but I am older now, I don't want to be around 25,000 of my closest and not so closest friends, who will show up for the parade. People come from all over the country for this weekend, and it is one of the biggest $$$ weekends for my city.

Also this weekend, the UT baseball team is in Omaha ready to play for another National Championship in baseball. The last time the UT baseball team won a National Championship was in 2005. It's time for another one.

I forgot to mention that it's well above 90 degrees here and is inching above the 100 degrees mark. Anyone who is outside will bake in an instant.
With it only being the first few weeks of June, this summer will go down in the record books for getting hot earlier and staying hot later and for having more 100 degrees days. Oh, the joys of living in Texas!!

Have a great, but safe weekend, and watch for motorcycles.
