Late Monday morning update

I finally went to sleep about 4:30 this morning, and my mom woke me at close to 10am asking me if I wanted her to take me to the ER this afternoon. I told her yes. I am in too much pain and can't eat anything. Also, last night I discovered that something is infected in my digestive tract because green stuff is oozing out of the open area around my feeding tube.
I have to pack a bag, because with me a trip to the ER usually means a stay in the hospital.
I thought I was doing well, Feb. was the 1st month since last May that I didn't go to the ER.
My biggest fear for today's visit is that it's going to take several tries to get an IV started. Since I'm so dehydrated, my veins are going to not cooporate. When I had my gall-bladder test 2 weeks ago, it took 4 tries before they could start an IV.
*** Just incase you're wondering, my pain med is 5 times more powerful that morphine, and most people respond to morphine just fine. I take my med every 4-6 hrs and I'm still in pain. So, something is going on. ***

I will try to update as I can. Keep me in your prayers.

I've just come across your blog and, although the circumstances of my illness were far different than yours, I also suffered from gastroparesis for over two years. Thankfully, mine was cause by a virus which finally ran it's course. That said, years after I was ill, I was seeing an accupuncturist for pain/infertility and she told me that she had been able to cure someone of her gastroparesis through accupuncture. I'm not sure if you've already explored the alternative medicine avenue, but an accupuncturist may be able to help with your pain as well. I pray that you find relief from your pain and that the doctors are able to help alleviate all of your symptoms.

God Bless.
